Thomas a Kempis said 'To take no account of oneself, but always to think of others is the highest wisdom and perfection' Where as Thrasymachus argued that justice (or goodnes) is 'nothing other than the advantage of the stronger'.
I find myself waving in between the two extreems, changing from one view to the other mood depending. Today hes been a Kempis day.

Yeah, you have to think about yourself sometimes!

It's good to think of others, but if your own needs are not meet what do you have to give? You can end up feeling angry and used.
